Basic Sponge Cake Recipe II

Ingredients:

-3 large eggs

-2/3 cup of castor sugar

-1 tablespoon of cornflour in a cup fill the remainder of the cup with sifted plain flour

-1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

-1/4 teaspoon baking soda

-Sift dry ingredients together 3 times to create air

-2 teaspoons butter

-3 tablespoons milk

Directions:

Separate whites from yolks of eggs.

Whisk whites until fluffy, then gradually add sugar and yolks alternately.

Whisk until sugar has dissolved.

Add sifted dry ingredients.

Fold gently while adding warmed milk and butter.

Divide into two base lined and greased 18cm tins.

Bake at 180 degees C for 15-20 mins.

Turn out on wire rack to cool.

Decorate to your taste.

Ingredients:

get 100g of self raising flour, 100g of butter, 100g of caster sugar and 2 medium eggs.

Directions:

Put the butter and the caster sugar into a mixing bowl and stir until creamy and smooth.

Then slowly add the eggs and the flour and stir until creamy.

then put it in the bakeing tin and put in oven at 250 and set timer for 25 min (may need longer)

After that wait until cooled and add own ingredient for the to. e.g. choclote or icing

Finally eat and enjoy

Easy Sponge Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

-6 eggs

-1 cup sugar

-grated rind of 1 lemon or orange

-juice of 1/2 lemon or orange

-1 cup flour, sifted 3 times

-1 tsp baking powder

Directions:

Separate the whites from the yolks, add a pinch of salt to the whites and place in the refrigerator while the remaining ingredients are being prepared.

Beat the yolks and the sugar until light; add the lemon rind and juice, flour and baking powder.

Mix until a batter is formed.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold carefully into the batter.

Bake in a spring form or an ungreased pan at 325 F for 50 or 60 minutes.

Upon removing from oven,invert on a wire rack and allow to cool before removing from rack. ( I invert over an empy wine bottle )
